Knowledge Translation 3 Day Workshop: Implementing Evidence into Practice

Dates: Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 June 2019

Venue: QUT Gardens Point Campus

AusHSI, in collaboration with Metro North Hospital and Health Service, The University of Adelaide and Flinders University, present this three day highly interactive and outcome focused course, addressing the essential skills and knowledge needed to facilitate the implementation of evidence and innovation into everyday practice.

This is a participatory course, with interactive group discussions and group activities. Course content will cover:

  • What is knowledge translation and why is it important?
  • What are the key constructs in implementation science?
  • How do we use theories, models and frameworks?
  • How do we engage patients, staff and other stakeholders? How do we work together to understand problems, and co-design solutions?
  • What do we need to know about context?
  • What strategies can support change?
  • How will we show we have made a difference?
  • How will we convince decision makers?

Special Guests include:

  • Amanda Dines, Executive Director, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • Scott Bell, Director of Research, Metro North Hospital and Health Services
  • Liza-Jane McBride, Chief Allied Health Officer, Allied Health Professions Office Queensland.
