By October 10, 2019 No Comments

AusHSI is delighted to have received funding for two projects in the latest Australian Government’s MRFF Keeping Australian’s Out of Hospital funding round.  These projects received the only Queensland funding in this round.

  • $1 million to conduct a nurse-led community assessment and triage evaluation of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in urban and regional Queensland. The aim is to reduce the burden on the hospital system and provide patients with better options for managing their disease.  This project is being led by Professor Adrian Barnett. The QUT media release for this project can be viewed here
  • $1.9 million has been allocated to implement an early detection program to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions of aged care residents through the Early Detection of Deterioration in Elderly Residents program. This will be implemented in 12 aged care facilities, and will be led by Professor Gillian Harvey. QUT Media release on the EDDIE+ Project can be viewed here.
