**** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL ****

“Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated: Sustainability of publicly funded healthcare systems means spending wiser, not spending more” Health Services Research Symposium.

This Joint AusHSI-CBEH symposium will present research evidence on inefficiency in the use of health care resources in the form of low value care and opportunities for improving efficiency through improvements in resource use. Examples of innovations in service delivery will be presented using case studies from orthopaedics, cardiology and treatments at the end of life. However innovations in service delivery need to be matched with understanding the utilisation of services among populations and innovations in managing and planning health care resources in order to
promote improved utilisation and achieve the potential efficiencies.

Date: Wednesday 7 November 2018

9:30am – 1:30pm

Where: Translational Research Institute, Seminar Room 2003
