AusHSI Partnership Grant supports genomic diagnostic service for blood cancer patients

By August 27, 2018 No Comments

AusHSI is working with the Australian Translational Genomics Centre (ATGC) to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of next-generating sequencing to inform clinical decision making in blood cancer.

Launched in July last year, the ATGC is led by QUT Professor Matt Brown in partnership with Pathology Queensland and Metro South Hospital and Health Service.  It is the first genomic diagnostic service in Queensland to provide whole-exome sequencing for cancer patients. The technology is being used to identify actionable genetic mutations not covered by current genetic testing, to inform individual treatment decisions and avoid procedures that are unlikely to be effective.

The evaluation of the service is being supported by an AusHSI partnership grant outlined on our website.  Further information on the ATGC can be found on their website.
