Sanjeewa Kularatna
Principal Senior Research Fellow – Health Economics
Sanjeewa Kularatna joined the AusHSI team as a Health Economist in 2017. He has significant interests in developing the methodology for consumer preference for heart disease-related care models. His passion is working with health service partners to improve efficiency in resource allocations and improve health outcomes in patients.
Sanjeewa has a PhD in health economics from Griffith University, clinical dentistry experience and qualifications and experience in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and econometrics. He has broad experience in conducting extensive research projects, supervising PhD students, and completing commercial research.
Sanjeewa has developed economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, Markov models, costing studies and discrete choice experiments. He is skilled in measuring Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALYs), utility values and developing preference-based instruments.
